Accessing share prices from past years.
I am auditing a super fund for years ended 30 June 2012, 2013 & 2014. The fund did not use any software that provides closing share prices. I have used Yahoo finance and have come across some discrepancies. Can you recommend any free web sites that have accurate closing share price? Do you have any other time effective solutions? (yes I could ring all the share registries and try to get the old 30 June prices - time consuming and they get annoyed if more that one holding).
Hi Peter
Yes I would have tried Yahoo. Another option is if you have access to BGL or Class the prices should all be in there.
You can also go to the ASX website (www.asx.com.au) select the share you want and you can select the 10 year option graph. You can then find the 30 June date for each year you want and then the price is in the right hand top corner of the graph (it is actually the price at the 1st of the month, i.e. it will be the price at 1 July for each year).
Thanks
