I see quite a few advertisements where SMSF accounting packages are offered to auditors to 'help with their work.' Given the new rules about auditors not doing any accounting, I cannot see how an auditor could use a SMSF package to produce financial reports. The client must present the auditor with the final reports. If an auditor creates, for example, a members' balance report that is a financial report. That is accounting work.
