Recommended policy and procedures (templates required) to secure approval for independent auditing.
The worry is that after the signing off of the clients SMSF work file and letters pertaining to that client, all is kept at the taxation accountants office for security reasons within the applicable practice (protecting the client base) and no files or audit materials are taken off site.
Only a listing of ABN's and Clients Name is off site, so when the ATO client check up is completed annually it can be readily agreed to.
What to do without throwing away the too hard client base developed over time OR do I delegate to a more professional office and retire?
Hi Peter, agreed that the auditor is required to have access to audit documentation to support the audit work that they have performed. If a professional body or regulator requested that information from the auditor then you would need to have access to it. If you require a list of auditors & contact details of auditors in your area please let the Association know & we can assist.

Hi Team,
Guess the answer is becoming obvious. I know, state the obvious. Time to delegate and retire. So, the next question is, "To whom or what organization do I delegate a portfolio of SMSF's from three independent practices or maybe amalgamate with another independent practice". What to do?
