Hi Tony, yes the Federal Government initially proposed that the annual SMSF audit be changed to once every 3 years. The change was proposed to start from 1 July 2019. At this point it is not going ahead & it is off the Government's agenda. Lobby groups put a lot of pressure on the Government and commons sense has prevailed. The lobby groups explained to the Government that in effect every 3 years a Fund would have to be audited for 3 years so it was not going to achieve what the Government wanted.
